John began his career as a novelist in 2022 at the age of 80, not because he had always planned to, but because one quiet moment changed everything. Sitting at his computer one day, reflecting on a full and accomplished life, he was struck by a simple realization: despite decades of work, service, and family, nothing tangible would remain behind to tell future generations that he had once been here.
That thought moved him to action.
He began to write about his early boyhood growing up in the swamps of southeast Texas, determined to preserve the memories that shaped him. Those pages became Mudman, his debut novel, available on Amazon.
The Realm of Hymn marks his 6th published work, a glowing testament to the creative journey he began later in life but embraced wholeheartedly.
He and his wife Judy have 4 children, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
John is a living embodiment of the phrase, “There is no better time to start than now!”
