What Is a Safe Haven?

A Safe Haven is not just a building but a lifeline. It’s a community built on compassion and purpose, where individuals and families find refuge, hope, and a clear pathway out of poverty and homelessness. Our Safe Havens are designed to address immediate needs while equipping residents with the tools to build lasting independence. This is where transformation begins.

What Our Safe Havens Provide

  1. Shelter and Stability: Every journey out of homelessness begins with a safe place to rest. Our Safe Havens offer secure, dignified housing that provides the stable foundation people need to start rebuilding their lives. A warm bed and a safe environment are the first steps toward lasting change.
  2. Comprehensive Support: We go far beyond shelter. Safe Havens connect residents with critical resources, including medical care, mental health services, job training, and educational opportunities.
  3. Empowerment Programs: Our residents aren’t passive recipients of aid; they’re active participants in their own transformation. Through skill-building workshops, confidence training, and independence programs, we help people rediscover their strengths and prepare for self-sufficiency.
  4. Nutritious Meals: No one should go to bed hungry. Our Safe Havens provide healthy, nutritious meals to every resident, ensuring that basic needs are met so they can focus on what matters most, rebuilding their futures.
  5. Community and Connection: Loneliness and isolation often accompany homelessness. Our Safe Havens foster a sense of belonging, helping residents rebuild social connections and find support in one another. No one heals alone.
  6. Pathways to Permanent Housing: Our ultimate goal is transition, helping every resident move into stable, permanent housing. Safe Havens serve as a bridge to independence, providing the guidance and support needed to make that leap successfully.

Pride in a Name

Choose Charities Corp. is building two distinct types of facilities to honor the unique needs of those we serve. The Citizens Quarters will support families and individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness. The VETS Quarters will be dedicated exclusively to our nation’s veterans, recognizing that their military experiences require specialized care and understanding.

Our long-term vision is for residents to actively participate in the operation and management of each facility, guided by local professionals.
